Bit of an exclusive with this piece of news. 2 weeks ago we got our first look at a new book coming out called Avatar The Last Airbender: Legacy, the listings said it was coming out in October.
I recently contacted the publisher to request extra information about the book and also to request a review copy on behalf of the site. While I was approved for a review copy, I was told that they had just recently found out that the book has been delayed until Spring 2015 and that they will not have an exact date until the start of 2015. So I will have an early review copy of the book it will not be until 2015. A bit disappointing as I was very excited for this book coming out in just a few months and now it is close to a year away.
Luckily I did also get some additional information about this book.
It will have 8 inserts, which are the mementos mentioned in the product description.
Some of the inserts include: A fold out Fire Nation Family Tree, a pamphlet on mastering the 4 bending arts, a foldout map of the Avatar world and a newspaper clipping about the Fire Nation's attack on the air nomads.
Very interested in the family tree, definite potential for some unnamed characters to get names. Lu Ten's mother chief among them. It could also explain why the book has been delayed, if this book is going to have a comprehensive family tree it could spoil details like who Zuko married and the name of his daughter.
At least it means they are putting a lot more time into this book, which will hopefully result in a quality book.
