New York Toy Fair is currently and this year there are a few items on display for Avatar fans. Zwyer Industries have revealed 2 new figures in addition to showing off the final version of their Korra statue. No information on release dates right now, but I am sure that may come as the convention still has a few days to run.
First up is the Korra Statue which we have seen in bits and pieces over the past few months. This is the follow up figure to the Lin Beifong they released last year. It will retail for $108.99. I personally think it looks way better than the Dark Horse Deluxe Korra announced a few weeks ago.
Next up is the first of two smaller figurines. This chibi Aang with Momo will retail for $19.99. Overall I really like the design, including Momo is a nice touch, I just feel it is trying to make Aang look a bit too cute, I think I would prefer him looking straight rather than what I assume is him trying to look at Momo on his head. I think some slight adjustments and this could be an amazing figure.
Last up is the Chibi Korra figurine. Again retail price is $19.99. We all know the pose they are trying to replicate here in chibi form and again I think overall it works, I just feel the pose is a little overly done to the point where it looks like a painful position for Korra, I think she is bent over too much and thus her neck is also pointing up too much. Straighten the pose up a bit to match the show better and I think this will be a very iconic figure.
Obviously these are just a few images from the first day of the fair, we do not know how early these figures are at or if changes are even possible. I think the reveal of he cheaper and smaller chibi figurines is going to really excite a lot of fans who were put off by the initial products from Zwyer being so large and expensive. At 20 each these seem much more easy to start collecting.
